Power DPS Holosmith (Outdated)

NOTE: This guide is outdated and waiting for update.

Power DPS Holosmith is a melee-based DPS-build with decent CC-capabilities. It uses sword, Exceed-utilities and Photon Forge to do some constant direct damage to surrounding enemies. Holosmith has some leap skills to help it re-engage enemies if needed. As a very damage-focused build, power DPS holosmith offers little support to the allies.

Kitty tested this build a bit during PVP demo weekend and it looked promising. To which extent, that remains to see...

-Fights mainly in melee-range which makes it vulnerable to anti-melee mechanics
-Accidental overheating can hurt the holosmith a lot and nerfs the DPS for a moment
-Lacks self-heals so squisheee

Utility Skills



Like Kitty's already mentioned, Holosmith is a melee-focused build, though in photon forge-mode, it can spend about 1/3 of time at mid-range. But skill-wise, it's rather easy to play. Power Holosmith's rotation is mainly priority-based, dependent on situation.

So, here's a few guidelines...
-Start by engaging the Photon Forge and heat it to around 140 units before disengaging and engage it again around 60 heat units.
-In Photon Forge, spam 2, 3 and 4 and auto-attack when they are on cooldown.
-Outside Photon Forge, spam 431 for sword+pistol skills.
-Set up Rifle Turret when the fight is stationary and spam damage-toolbelt skills, Prime Light Beam and Laser Disk when they're off the cooldown. Save Big Ol' Bomb a bit if you know you're about to need some CC power.

One might ask why no bombing anymore. According to Kitty's tests, sword auto-attack does better damage than bombing and sword skills 2 and 3 even more so.
